For Immediate Release – January 15, 2013
Industry:  Non Profit

In celebration of the 52nd anniversary of human spaceflight and Yuri Gagarin’s historic flight, the We Want Our Future Initiative is pleased to announce the collaboration with Yuri’s Night for a postcard contest!  To participate, register your party as a space party at and fill out the Yuri’s Night contest form.  Then visit local schools, youth groups, or other community groups and perform the We Want Our Future activity with the students.  These students will learn about Yuri’s first flight into space and the achievements of the Space Industry since then.  Using their artistic talents, the students will draw what they envision their future to be like in space.

Join fellow space enthusiasts to inspire the next generation of space scientists, engineers, and explorers and win prizes!  Your class or activity group will be entered to win a party pack of Yuri’s Night gear to throw a Yuri’s Night party in April 2013!  There will be three (3) categories of prizes:  group prizes for the most creative collection of postcards from an event, individual prizes for the best overall postcards in each age group, and volunteer prizes for those volunteers who host the best or greatest number of events!

For convenience, forms will be made available here online for activity leaders to keep track of the events they hold during the contest.  Student entries submitted via email at (400 dpi minimum), or postmarked between January 15th and March 15th will be eligible to win these various prizes.

About is a grassroots space exploration educational that aims to get elementary through high school age students inspired and energized about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math using Space Exploration. The program hopes to collect 100,000+ postcards from students across the world, in which each student draws his or her hope for the future of space. The post cards are then uploaded onto our website, so that students can see their work in an international forum. In completing this project, we hope to inspire our nation’s youth to dream big, ask for help, and never give up. The initiative is a non-profit status organization based in Colorado, USA.
